I stay healthy by avoiding University Hospital
Most recent visit was to UH Urgent Care on 10/16/2017 for a sinus infection. Once again they tried to put me on Prednisone for no reason, and this time I said no.
Also tried to get me to use Mucinex and I said no. Antibiotics prescribed were uber strong and destroyed my digestive system in less than 24 hours after first dose (that's a first). Called 10/19/2017 and got some crazy story about temporarily stopping the antibiotics, and then starting again in 48 hours, and if still having digestive problems they would have me take a different antibiotic. This makes no sense.
Everyone knows you are supposed to finish the dose. I was just advising them of my reaction to the antibiotics per their instructions. They also suggested an over the counter cough syrup that I can't take due to asthma and COPD. I'm using ginger root tea, grapefruit juice, honey, and a nebulizer instead.
They didn't suggest any of those things. A previous UH experience had a uro-gynecologist wanting me to believe that a UTI followed by a bad yeast infection might be bladder cancer, and insisting on invasive testing, which I refused, and got some Monistat, and haven't had any problems since. That was a year ago.
All in all, I'm sticking with the Cleveland Clinic. At least they listen to patients and pay attention to patient medical history.
Reason of review: Bad quality.
